First Tee Statement: Coronavirus

The safety of participants, employees and volunteers is First Tee of Mid-Michigan’s top priority. We continue to monitor the rapidly changing developments regarding the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), including recommendations from Centers for Disease Control, World Health Organization and local health administrators. This very fluid situation requires constant review, communication, and transparency.

Current Steps being taken by our chapter

• With information currently available, we are taking precautionary measures that are in the best interests of public safety in our community, and our staff is cleaning and disinfecting all golf equipment after every use.
• We are staying updated on school district and following a long with the State of Michigan decisions related to health of children in the community, and if appropriate, will follow their lead. We are taking a proactive approach to communicating with our school partners.
•  Our spring class schedule is going to be evaluated and a decision will be made on our spring classes based on what is at the best interest of the kids, parents, coaches and volunteers.
• As things continue to progress, our team will make sure to get all information to parents and participants.
